"Netflix cancels show because of capitalism" is true but they aren't even succeeding at capitalism. Pretty much all streaming services are hemorrhaging money right now. In their desperate attempts to win at capitalism, they are failing at capitalism. They are killing art for the sake of a pretend profit they never receive. Pathetic.
we call this "shooting the goose that lays the golden egg"
Lately a lot of companies are destroying themselves because they've taken to predatory or just plain horrible business practices in a n effort to keep profit running up and up and up forever. Which is impossible.
See if I have a business that makes chairs, and my goal is to make a nice living making really GOOD chairs, and selling them to people, to make money, then that's my business's purpose. if I stop making good chairs I am useless as a business owner and my business is failed.
If I have a business to make money, and I do it by selling chairs, then then quality of those chairs doesn't matter because this isn't a chair making business, this is a Profit making business selling anything but right now it's selling chairlike objects and if we're not making perpetual profit, that's when I find tax loopholes, offshore accounts, do some wage theft and eventually declare bankruptcy and run off with the profits and do it again. Because I am not in the business of making chairs, I am solely making money for myself. In otherwords, a con artist and professional thief really.
In the second example I'm not looking for a thing I can do or that needs doing and which I can use to make a Living,
I am looking for ever-exponentially increasing profit and NO amount will ever be Enough.
Providing goods and services To Make Money Enough for life and some luxuries.
is not the same as Making Money by whatever means To Make Money Forever Without Limit.
